Audrey’s First Holy Communion Day was originally scheduled for May. Because of the pandemic, her special day had to be pushed to July. Thankfully, she was still able to receive the sacrament this year. She was so excited to get all dressed up for this special occasion. Here are some of my favorite photos from our session together.
We took many photos at her church. They had a garden area that provided a gorgeous backdrop for many of our photos.
Doesn’t she look like a little princess?
Audrey’s mother informed me that Audrey’s Communion Party was going to have accents of butterflies. Imagine the excitement when as I am photographing, a lovely black and yellow butterfly started flying around us and landed on some flowers nearby. It was a sign!!! We jumped at the chance and captured some shots with this pretty, carefree creature.
We continued to take some additional photos on the church grounds as well as inside the church. Little Audrey was such a trouper! She loved taking photos. In fact, this sweet girl started recommending where she’d like to take photos. Hahaha!
As we were in the church, I noticed the light glaring in from the stained glass window. What a perfect opportunity for a silhouette photo!
We went to one last final location where Audrey was having her Communion party. The fountain provided such nice scenery.
One last detail of our session that I must share…..As soon as Audrey arrived for our photo session, she came running towards me with something in her hands that she was so excited to give to me! She presents this heartfelt, handmade card as well as a quarter! Why a quarter? Because it was her way of thanking me for taking her photos. She insisted on me taking it and assured me she had more in her piggy bank! I can’t tell you how much I love and appreciate this gesture. When a little child hands you a card like this and her own quarter, it just melts your heart! May your sweet heart never change, Audrey!
Congratulations and God bless you today and always, Audrey!
