Emily & Beau’s Wedding | Dubois, PA

Wedding

August 3rd was a long anticipated day for Emily & Beau.  This couple have been college sweethearts for the last four years and engaged for two of them.  They knew once they graduated that they wanted to start their life together.  They chose to be married in Dubois, PA.  Beau’s family is from there and they both liked the rural location.  Emily & Beau were so happy when they found a venue that would allow them to customize their day.  Although they loved planning all the details, Emily said the ceremony would be the most important aspect of the day.  Their wedding day was as close to perfection as it gets!  I enjoyed working with this couple so much!  They are both so easy going and happy!  Every moment you saw them, they were smiling!  There were so many special moments during the day that it’s hard to narrow them down in one blog post.  I was so honored to capture this beautiful occasion.  Enjoy some of my favorite images that tell the visual story of their day!

Emily & Beau decided to have a First Look.  For those that aren’t familiar, this is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time before the ceremony.  This is a very intimate moment because it’s just the two of them.  As a photographer, I am so honored to be there during such a special moment.  However, I try to stand further back so that the couple enjoys having this moment to themselves.

Emily & Beau chose to have their first look at Beau’s Grandmother’s house.  This turned out to be an ideal location!  It was absolutely gorgeous grounds with lush greenery everywhere and a large welcoming porch.  I wish we had more time there because I could have shot there all day!

Beau surprised Emily with a heartfelt letter that he wanted her to read before the official first look.  Emily was touched by the sweet and romantic gesture.

Emily & Beau were so excited to see each other!  I love Emily’s facial expression when she stepped out on the porch and saw that Beau was waiting for her with his back turned.  They were anticipating this moment for a long time!

Can you say, “gorgeous couple?”  I couldn’t help but take a lot of photos…. The lighting, the background, the emotion, the beauty….It was incredible!

Don’t you love the way Emily is looking at Beau?

Alexandria was Emily’s Matron of Honor as well as her Wedding Planner.  Emily was so grateful to have her sister help plan aspects of the day.  Alex made sure Emily’s day went as smoothly as possible.  Emily also had the rest of her siblings in the wedding as well as her close friend from school.

Emily was elated when she found out her grandparents were able to make the long trip.  Her grandmother said she wasn’t missing her special day for anything!  Emily was hidden before the ceremony, but her grandmother had to hug her before she went down the aisle.  A wave of emotion came over Emily when she saw her grandparents.  I am so blessed to capture these moments that are pure joy!

Emily’s dad was so proud to escort his beautiful daughter down the aisle.

The wedding ceremony was so very special as well.  The officiant related the aspects of marriage to a box of crayons.  He explained how just like there are unique colors in a box of crayons, those colors represent different characteristics of love which are needed to make a marriage succeed.

The exchanging of vows was a very solemn moment and the love could be felt throughout the church.

I love this photo that my second shooter captured from the church balcony.  The priest had all members of the bridal party gather around Beau & Emily while they exchanged their wedding vows.

The First Kiss as husband and wife!

Some of my favorite photos are of the bride and groom leaving the church.  The smiles are never happier!

I absolutely adore the photo of Emily and Beau with the church (where they just got married) in the background!  Emily was a trooper…she had to walk up various stairs in her high heels so that we could capture these shots.  However, I’d say it was worth every step!

How beautiful is their reception hall?

Another special detail of the day were the centerpieces on the tables.  This couple is so resourceful!  Emily and Beau initially had challenges finding the perfect centerpieces.  They stumbled upon lanterns they liked on Pinterest and Beau and his father decided to make these gorgeous lantern centerpieces!  So talented!!!

Presenting the new Mr. & Mrs…..

Emily & Beau danced to “I’m With You” by Vance Joy for their First Dance.

I love this tender moment where Beau is kissing Emily while dancing!

The guests loved when Emily and Beau answered questions to “Who Knows Who Better.”  For each question, they had to raise the appropriate shoe for who they thought was the answer to the question.  There were a lot of laughs during this game!

The bride’s grandfather surprised Emily by requesting a special dance, “My Girl.”

The sun was providing a nice soft glow before setting and it was perfect for a few more portraits.  I was delighted when Emily & Beau agreed to sneak away from the reception so we could capture these.

Congratulations, Emily & Beau!  You two are an amazing couple and we wish you nothing but the best!  We love you guys!
